Five RBI Day For Aaron Schmidt Spells Out Victory For Sun Prairie Home Talent Over Columbus
Aaron Schmidt drove in five on three hits to lead Sun Prairie Home Talent past Columbus 17-3 on Sunday. Schmidt drove in runs on a single in the first, a groundout in the second, and a triple in the fourth. Sun Prairie fired up the offense in the first inning. Randy Molina's sac fly scored one run for Sun Prairie Home Talent. The Red Birds notched eight runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Eric Bennet, Taylor Livingston, Cole Stupar, Ty Hamilton, Justin Krebs, and Schmidt, all driving in runs in the frame.
Ryan Roscoe earned the win for Sun Prairie. The righthander allowed two hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one. Logan Mara, Taylor Mack, Robbie Knorr, and Nick Mailandt filled in the rest of the innings, keeping the Crawdads at bey.
Jarod Ontiveros took the loss for Columbus. The bulldog surrendered 13 runs on 14 hits over three and a third innings, striking out one.
Sun Prairie Home Talent tallied 17 hits in the game. Bennet, Schmidt, Livingston, Mack, and Krebs each racked up multiple hits for Sun Prairie Home Talent. Schmidt and Bennet each collected three hits to lead Sun Prairie Home Talent.
Kendall Minick led Columbus with two hits in three at bats.
The Red Birds are idle next week with so we will see you in two weeks in at home to take on Poynette.
